MEAN WELL LED drivers for horticulture fixtures and grow rooms: high-power HLG drivers, constant-power XLG drivers for flexible LED boards, and ELG models with 3-in-1 or DALI dimming, in IP65 and IP67 metal housings.
Most horticulture LED boards are constant current: the driver sets the current (for example 1400 mA or 2100 mA) and the board voltage follows. Some light bars run on a fixed 24V or 48V and need a constant voltage driver. Check the board datasheet first: the driver output type must match.
For grow controllers with 0-10V output, use a driver with 3-in-1 dimming (B or AB type on HLG, ELG and XLG). For DALI systems, choose DA or DA2 versions. Check the dimming wiring diagram in the datasheet before connecting several drivers to one controller.
Grow rooms are hot and humid. Choose an IP65 or IP67 metal-housing driver (HLG and ELG are IP65 or IP67 depending on the type; XLG is IP67), mount it where air can move, and check the derating curve: output power drops at high ambient temperature.
Note the output type (constant current or constant voltage), the current or voltage range and the wattage.
Keep the same dimming type (0-10V, PWM, DALI) and an equal or better IP rating.
Compare dimensions and mounting holes, and follow the wiring diagram in the new datasheet.
The HLG series is widely used in grow fixtures, alongside XLG constant-power drivers for flexible boards and ELG for dimmable or DALI fixtures. Match the output type and range to your LED boards.
Yes, if the HLG model matches the output type (constant current or constant voltage), the voltage and current range, the wattage and the dimming type of the original. Send us the old label and we will match it.
On HLG drivers, A-type has a built-in potentiometer to adjust output, B-type has 3-in-1 dimming (0-10V, PWM signal, resistance), and AB-type has both. Blank types have neither.
Add the board watts and keep the total within the driver rating × 0.8. The boards must also fit the driver voltage window when wired in series or the current range when wired in parallel; check the board and driver datasheets.
Yes, with a driver that has 0-10V dimming, such as HLG or ELG B/AB types. Connect the controller to the dimming wires as shown in the datasheet.
